Happy Easter! (A wee bit late...)

We had a wonderful Easter at my parents' house.

Oliver celebrated by learning how to escape from his pack n' play.

Naps were wonderful.

Everyone had a blast at the park.

This is my youngest sister Amelia and her new husband Ryan.

Dyeing Easter eggs is a tradition.

Oliver wasn't too sold on this whole process.  He couldn't understand why he couldn't drink what was in the cup and why he couldn't hold the eggs afterwards.

Henry enjoyed himself but only did a few eggs.  Here we are putting out carrots and lettuce for the Easter Bunny.  Henry and Oliver refer to him as "Peter Rabbit."

Here are the boys opening their Easter baskets.  Oliver is asking if he can "eat this?" piece of chocolate at 6:30 in the morning.  Henry meanwhile is stuffing his face full of candy.  And that, my friends, is exactly why I didn't put a lot of candy in those baskets.

We went to church at my home congregation and it was beautiful.  There is nothing better than going to church at HOME.  Here are the boys in their Easter finest.

Such goofy boys!

We have done an Easter egg hunt for three years now.  This year Oliver was old enough to join in the fun.

Henry, being an old pro, knew exactly what was in these eggs:  TREATS.

Happy Easter from our family!  We hope that you remember the true reason for your Easter celebration!  Jesus is Risen!  He is risen indeed!

My Little One Turns Two

My little Ollie turned two the other day.

These are pictures of Ollie from last year.  How on earth did he turn two so quickly?

Gone are those little baby roll legs.  He is so tall and slender now.

Good morning, birthday boy!

Big brother Henry got him a balloon for his birthday.

Henry was more than willing to help Ollie open his first present.

Clearly loving his truck wrapping paper.

We planned on hitting up the zoo on Ollie's birthday.  I have learned to not tell the boys to smile.  This is what I get.

Oliver wanted to see the "Ooh-ooh-aah-aahs" so we headed to the primates first.

Reptiles were a big hit with the boys- no surprise there, I guess!

I think we recited most of the book Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See? when we watched this bear.

Yes, we did check out the cows.

All aboard the zoo train!!!!!!

The boys loved the train.

We don't live that far away from the zoo.  Maybe ten minutes.  I could not keep these two awake during the drive home.

My two-year-old!

Brothers.

Daddy came home from work FINALLY!  We had Ollie's favorites for supper:  baked chicken, garlic mashed potatoes, and zucchini artichoke bake.  Then we gave Oliver his new bike!  I think he likes it!

The pedal came off when Henry was riding it.

Oliver and his ice cream cake.  I made him an ice cream cake I found in the Food Network magazine.  It was yummy and super easy to make!

Our family!  Happy 2nd Birthday, Oliver!  We love you and are thankful to God for you every day!  May Jesus bless and keep you always!

Puddle Jumping

I had been looking for raincoats and rain boots for the boys for a couple of months.  We have a book that the boys love that has a little boy with rain boots and a raincoat.  We had had lengthy discussions about that little boy being able to play outside, even though it was raining!  Henry and Oliver were very interested in that idea.  I must admit I was as well.  Goodness knows the days can get long when little boys aren't able to get rid of some of their energy!

Old Navy sold these raincoats this spring.  I love them.  They are lined with the softest fleece and the coats seem durable. The boys love that they look like firemen!  I found the boots on clearance and Walmart.  They are actually barn boots!  The boys call them their "fireman boots."

It had rained earlier that morning.  The boys begged me to go out in the rain, but it was far to chilly.  We decided to go out in the afternoon and look for puddles.  There weren't many left but we managed to find some!

Splash!

Oliver found the perfect stick to poke puddles with.

Busy getting wet.

Maybe now rainy days won't be so bad after all!

Our Tiny Bathroom

Our tiny house has one bathroom.  One tiny bathroom.  It feels crowded if you're standing in there by yourself.  It has a few things going for it though, because it is pretty!  At least I think so...

We installed the light above the sink two years ago.  We also installed a new sink and faucets at the same time.  We did want to put in a square pedestal sink, but the layout of the bathroom would not allow it.

The picture hanging above the shelf is one that I took of the boys after their nightly bath.

When we moved in, the previous owners had painted the walls white.  We liked it, but it was pretty boring in there.  We painted it a light blue about a year later, but hated it.  We settled on this gray color and love it.  Since the room is so little, we didn't want to overwhelm it with a bold color.  We like the muted, clean look of the gray.

So there it is!  We four share this room.  For now, it works!  Maybe someday we'll live in a house with more than one bathroom.  (Please, Lord?!?)
